RICS has appointed industry experts to the Market Advisory Panel (MAP) for the Middle East and North Africa to connect RICS to the needs of the market and drive positive change and confidence through strong thought leadership.

The board consists of nine members from diverse backgrounds, who are committed to building on the success of RICS in the region and strengthening the brand in the marketplace. The members of the panel will play a pivotal role in progressing RICS’ growth strategy in the region and add significant value to the local market by promoting RICS’ wide range of services, all of which are delivered under its independent ‘public interest’ mandate.

The new members of the Market Advisory Panel include:

Christopher Seymour, FRICS – Chair

With more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, Christopher manages the 1300 strong Mott MacDonald operation in the Middle East. Having worked in most of the major cities in the Middle East region over the last 10 years he specialises in commercial, leisure and healthcare sectors plus infrastructure and oil and gas. He also sits on the Investment Committee of ENBD REIT and is an active member of the IPFA. Having spent many years in PFI and PPP procurement practising in both UK and Middle East he advises many clients on strategy, risk, commercial and technical advice for large public-sector investments.

Fatima Balfaqeeh, MRICS

Fatima comes with over 14 years of experience in dispute resolution in construction related matters, governance enforcement in contracts and procurement fields in government entities, Facilities Management, Marina Management, project related finance, payables and banking credit facilities for cooperate clients. She is an independent Arbitrator, Mediator and the Managing Director of RKAH Consultancy, a firm specializing in dispute avoidance and dispute resolution.

She also holds several titles with domestic and international organisations, such as being a Board Member in the ICC-UAE, and a Committee Member in the UAE Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

Louise Rodrigues, MRICS

With an extensive development and construction knowledge, Louise has 20 years of experience at international consultancies, across a variety of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Hospitality, Commercial, Mixed-use and Master Planning.

She is currently the Managing Director of Aquila Project Management, her start-up business which works closely with global clients and is disrupting the way large scale development schemes are delivered.

Craig Finlayson, MRICS

Director and Head of Currie & Brown’s contract advisory services across the Middle East region, Craig has a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry for over 20 years. 12 of those years has been with Currie & Brown in the Middle East. He is an experienced manager and business leader in the operations management, quantity surveying, contracts, claims and commercial management fields.

Daniel Pugh, MRICS

Daniel leads the hotel valuation and advisory department for leading consultancy firm JLL in Dubai and covers the entire MENA region.

With over 15 years of experience in the sector, he has an abundance of experience in hotel valuation, operator selection, development advisory and brokerage services. In addition to hotels, he also has extensive experience in other leisure oriented and alternative asset classes including restaurants, golf courses, public houses, healthcare and student accommodation

ommunities.

Tarek Madany, MRICS

Tarek is the Managing Director at Global Appraisal Tech (GAT), which is one of the top asset valuation firms in Egypt specialised in real estate, machinery and equipment valuation, project management and feasibility studies. Under Tarek’s direction, GAT has appraised hundreds of assets including development projects, commercial & residential properties, plants, and equipment.

Tarek has also been actively involved in the mentoring of APC candidates for both, the RICS and Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). He is a faculty member of the RICS academy and an instructor in the Real Estate Program at the American University in Cairo.

Suzannah Newboult

A Partner of DLA Piper, one of the biggest law firms in the world, Suzannah’s focus is on resolving international construction and engineering disputes through negotiation, mediation, adjudication and arbitration for a range of stakeholders.

Having spent over half of her career in the Middle East working across the GCC, she is well known as a thought leader and industry commentator for the construction industry. Furthermore, Suzannah is ranked in the Chambers & Partners Directory and listed in Who’s Who Legal Construction and Expert Guides Women in Business Law.

Ibrahim Al Zubi

As the Chief Sustainability Officer at Majid Al Futtaim-Holding, Ibrahim oversees the group-wide sustainability strategy of the organisation and raising it’s sustainability profile in the Middle East and globally. He is also the Senior Associate at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability leadership.

With over twenty years of experience in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, Ibrahim has played a pivotal role in driving sustainable real-estate practices across Majid Al Futtaim Properties. He was also selected as one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Europe and the Middle East in 2011 by the Center for Sustainability and Excellence in the US.

Mohamad Al-Dah

Mohamad Al Dah is currently the Director of the Survey Department at the Dubai Land Department, a government entity responsible for providing a range of real estate services.
